Last February 25, 2022, a 2.8M coffee beans warehouse was turned-over to the Barobo-Tagbina (BATA) Agrarian Reform Community (ARC) Cluster in Brgy. Tagbina, Surigao del Sur led by Progressive ARB Multipurpose Cooperative (PARBEMCO).
The said warehouse will serve as the storage of the coffee beans consolidated by PARBEMCO, along with the machineries and other equipment provided by the Project ConVERGE to the ARBO to further boost the cluster’s coffee production, rejuvenation, processing and marketing enterprise.
The turn-over was led by Surigao del Sur 2nd District Congressman Johnny Pimentel, who expressed his thanks to Project ConVERGE for helping boost the coffee industry of the province.
According to Ptr. Jerry E. Taguno, Chairperson of PARBEMCO, they are grateful to the support of DAR and Project ConVERGE to their ARBO and ARC. He also encouraged the participating ARBOs to become more proactive in the activities of the cluster.
Other attendees to the said event were Tagbina Mayor Generoso Narciso, Vice Mayor Antonio Adlao and local officials, DAR Assistant Regional Director Daylinda Narisma, Project ConVERGE M&E/KM Consultant Edgardo Soriano and other RPMO Personnel, Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer of Surigao del Sur Leoncio Bautista, Jr. and DAR/Project ConVERGE PPMO Personnel and the Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officers of the Province.
